§ Lord E. PERCYI have asked this authority, whose expenditure in terms of cost per child was the highest in England and Wales in 1924–25, and whose revised estimates for 1926–27 show a further increase, to reconsider their estimates, and I have drawn their attention particularly to their expenditure 1659 on teachers' salaries which is the second highest in England and Wales. I am now awaiting their reply to my letter.
