asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he can give the number of able-bodied persons being relieved by the parish councils of Old Monkland and Bothwell for the years ending 30th December, 1924 and 1925?

The average number of able-bodied persons in receipt of Poor relief during the calendar year 1924 was 342. with 1,129 dependants in Old Monkland, and 126 with 408 dependants in Bothwell. During 1925, the average number was 333 with 1,061 dependants in Old Monkland and 138 with 440 dependants in Bothwell.
