§ Colonel DAYasked the Secretary of State for War if his attention has been drawn to the methods adopted by the military police at Aldershot for the destruction of stray dogs; and will he state what steps have been taken by the authorities concerned to prevent a repetition of the methods recently adopted?
§ The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Sir Laming Worthington- Evans)The military police at Aldershot are under orders to take all stray dogs, and retain them for three days. If at the end of that time, they have not been claimed by their owners, the dogs are handed over to the civil police. So far as I am aware, no stray dog has been destroyed by the military police in the Aldershot Command.
