HC Deb 30 November 1925 vol 188 c1807
28. Mr. CAINE

asked the Undersecretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he will take steps to provide healthier office accommodation for the staff of His Majesty's Inspector of Taxes, Poole, where a large amount of sick leave has been necessitated by the insanitary, draughty, and ill-lighted offices at 9, Parkstone Road?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

A lease of these premises is being taken, and on completion of the lease certain works will be put in hand which, it is considered, will render these offices suitable for the reduced staff of this tax office.

Mr. CAINE

Will the hon. Gentleman see that the work is put in hand immediately; and is he aware that over 80 days have been lost in sick leave during the last few weeks?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I will convey that information to my right hon. Friend.
