HC Deb 30 November 1925 vol 188 cc1818-9
63. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury if he is aware that there is a deficiency of public money, amounting to £320, in connection with the accounts of the bookstall at the British Museum; whether for the past nine months an employé has been penalised in consequence; and whether he will take any action in the matter?

Mr. McNEILL

I do not feel able at present to say anything about this matter, as to which strict investigation is being made, except to state that no employé has been penalised.

Mr. THORNE

As soon as that investigation is completed, can I have the results?

Mr. McNEILL

I cannot give that pledge at the present moment. I do not know.
