HC Deb 26 November 1925 vol 188 cc1791-2

Motion made, and Question proposed, That this House will, upon Monday next, resolve itself into a Committee to consider of the Supply to be granted to His Majesty."—[Commander Eyres Monsell.]

Captain BENN

Is it possible that a Question can be put, and the voices collected, with the consequent rights of a Division if the hon. Members so desire.

Mr. SPEAKER

This is one of the curiosities of the House. I am going to put that Question myself.

Captain BENN

I am greatly encouraged by what you say. But may I ask whether you have put the Question. Under the Standing Order the voices are collected, and if a Division be persisted in the bells are rung.

Mr. SPEAKER

I can only rely on the answer that one of my predecessors gave to me.

Ordered, "That the Estimate presented to this House upon the 25th November be referred to the Committee of Supply."
