§ 32. Mr. RAMSDENasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if representations have been made to him with regard to the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture; and whether he can state what are the intentions of the Government with regard to the college?
§ Mr. AMERYRepresentations have been made to me with regard to the Imperial College of Tropical Agriculture and are receiving the serious consideration of His Majesty's Government; but I regret that I am not yet in a position to make any statement as to the intentions of the Government in the matter.
§ Mr. RAMSDENIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that a very large sum of money is required for this valuable institution before it can really do the work that is necessary, particularly for a hostel, and there is no accommodation at present for the students?
§ Mr. AMERYI am fully aware both of the great importance of the work and of the amount of money still required to make that work possible.
