§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSThe rates of pay and conditions of service of prison officers in Northern Ireland are matters not for this Government but for the Government of Northern Ireland. The question is not affected by Section 55 of the Government of Ireland Act, 1920, which secures to existing officers serving on the appointed day, i.e., 1st December, 1921, the rates than in force.
