JOYNSON-HICKSThe question of providing for an extension of hours at holiday resorts has been examined but the circumstances are not such as would justify the introduction of 561 a Government Bill. Very few demands for a relaxation have been received from holiday resorts and it is clear from representations I have received that the proposal would be strongly opposed in various quarters. All I can promise is that the matter will be further considered when general legislation to amend the Shops Acts is undertaken.
