HC Deb 16 November 1925 vol 188 c132
Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I beg to move, in page 10, line 3, after the word "summons," to insert the words "lawfully issued."

This Amendment is one I promised to put in, so as to make it quite certain that the summons was properly issued.

Amendment agreed to.

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I beg to move, in page 10, line 12, to leave out the word "undue."

In this Amendment I have gone a little further, I think, than my undertaking in Committee. The Bill says: Provided that, if at any time it appears to any examining justices during the course of any proceedings taken against any person before them in pursuance of this Subsection that the accused would suffer undue hardship if he were indicted and tried in the county or place aforesaid. I propose to leave out the word "undue." so that he does not suffer any hardship at all.

Amendment agreed to.
