asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any States have yet ratified the Opium Conventions recently signed at Geneva; and when His Majesty's Government propose to take this step?

I have been asked to reply. The Convention concluded by the Second Conference remains open for signature until the 30th September next, and cannot, I am advised, be ratified until after that date. As regards the Agreement concluded by the First Conference, I am informed that no State has yet ratified it. His Majesty's Government hope to do so at an early date, but it is necessary first to consult certain of our Protectorates
