§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERThe Committee held their first meeting for the taking of evidence on the 19th March last, and have already examined a number of witnesses. The evidence which is being taken deals with complaints of investors of all kinds. The reply to the last part of the question is in the negative

CUNLIFFE-LISTERRepresentations have been made to the Board of Trade with regard to matters affecting the formation of certain companies of the kind referred to, and the matter has been In ought to the attention of the Departmental Committee which is now sitting to consider what amendments are desirable in the Companies Acts. I think it would he premature to consider the introduction of legislation until the Committee's Report is received.
