HC Deb 07 May 1925 vol 183 c1148
84 Sir CYRIL COBB

asked the Minister of Health whether, before the Second Reading of the Rating and Valuation Bill is taken, he will give instructions for the issue of a White Paper explanatory of the contents?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The main principles of the Bill are the same as those contained in the Draft Bill, which, as my hon. Friend is aware, was circulated in the Autumn of 1923 and has been subjected to detailed examination by local authorities and other interests concerned. In the circumstances I do no think that the issue of a White Paper at this stage is necessary.

Lieut.-Colonel FREMANTLE

Would it be possible to get copies of that Memorandum?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am not sure what the hon. and gallant Gentleman means by Memorandum.

Lieut.-Colonel FREMANTLE

I mean the White Paper.

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

It is not a White Paper, but a Draft Bill.
