Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Minister of Health whether he has received a resolution passed by a general meeting of the Hull Retail Grocers Association protesting against the proposals of the draft Regulations issued by himself with regard to preservatives in food, and asking that the operations of the Regulations should be postponed for a sufficient length of time to enable existing stocks to be disposed of, and for other concessions; and what action he proposes to take with regard to this resolution?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINYes, Sir: I have received the resolution referred to. It is my intention to fix the date of operation of the Regulations so as to allow a reasonable time for the disposal of existing stocks. The other matters referred to in the resolution are under consideration.
