HC Deb 06 May 1925 vol 183 cc920-1
27. Sir GERALD STRICKLAND

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that since the visit to Malta of the Board of Admiralty the superintendent civil engineer has obtained more data on which to form a rough estimate of the cost of an additional breakwater and whether a date can be named when such an estimate may be ordered, in view of the fact that Malta is bound to be the most important naval base overseas, and because of the added importance thereof as a link with Singapore?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The answer to both parts of the question is in the negative, and I have nothing to add to the replies already given to my hon. Friend on the 16th and 25 February.
