§ 14. Captain WEDGWOOD BENNasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when it is proposed to inform the German Government of the matters in which it is in default under the disarmament clauses of the Treaty?
§ 17. Mr. MACKINDERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when it is the intention of the Allies to present Germany with a statement of her defaults under the disarmament clauses of the Treaty of Versailles?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI trust that the Allies will very shortly be in a position to present a Note on this subject to the German Government, although I can give no indication of the exact date.
§ Captain BENNWill it be accompanied by a statement showing details of matters in which Germany is in default?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINCertainly. We hope that this Note will be presented very quickly, and made available as soon as it is presented.
§ Mr. PONSONBYCan the right hon. Gentleman give the House any indication of the reason for the very long delay?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINVarious circumstances have combined. A matter of that kind required considerable attention. I think that I must plead guilty myself to responsibility for some part of the delay. The last meeting of Ambassadors could not consider the matter, because our representative had not received his instructions from me.
