§ Mr. STEPHEN(for Mr. HARDIE)asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the number of distillers producing alcohol for beverage use only, for industrial uses, and for industrial purposes only?
§ Mr. CHURCHILL:The information in the possession of the Board of Customs and Excise shows that at the present time there are 138 distilleries at work in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Of these 118 produce alcohol for beverage use only, five for industrial use only, and 15 for both beverage and industrial use.
