53. Captain WEDGWOOD BENN

asked the Prime Minister how much Parliamentary time he proposes to ask the House to allot to the consideration of the Budget Resolutions?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Government have allocated Thursday next for further consideration of the Budget Resolutions.

Captain BENN

Has the right hon. Gentleman taken into account that this Is the first time since the War that a Budget imposes novel taxes, and does he think that one day is sufficient to consider four or five important topics?

The PRIME MINISTER

We have consider the time of the House, as also, of course, recent precedents, and we shall suspend the Eleven o'Clock Rule. If there be any feeling on the part of the Leaders of the Opposition, no doubt they will communicate with us through the usual channel.
