HC Deb 04 May 1925 vol 183 c592
85. Mr. EVERARD

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he will take steps to make rolls of Entertainments Duty stamps available at post offices in those large towns which have no stamp office?

Mr. GUINNESS

Entertainments Duty stamps are on sale at some 1,300 post offices, as well as at some 85 Customs and Excise offices. Entertainments Duty stamped tickets are also on sale at the last-named offices, but it has not been found practicable to arrange for their sale at post offices. They can, however, be obtained by post from the Customs and Excise headquarters offices in London and Edinburgh, the tickets being despatched to the purchasers either on the day of the receipt of the order, or on the next working day. I am sending the hon. Member an explanatory leaflet.
