asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what house property belonging to the Soviet Government in this country enjoys exemption from taxation?

Mr. GUINNESS

I understand that there is no house property belonging to the Soviet Government in this country which enjoys exemption from Property Tax (Income Tax, Schedule A)—the taxation to which, I assume, the hon. and gallant Member's question is directed.

Are the buildings of other Powers exempt?

Mr. GUINNESS

Not in the case of leasehold premises, as those occupied by the Soviet Government are.
