HC Deb 30 March 1925 vol 182 cc919-20
14. Colonel DAY

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware that the contractor appointed by the Iraq Railways as sole agent for canvassing for traffic earned in the 10 months ending 31st March, 1923, more than2½lakhs of rupees; whether he can give the exact amount paid to the contractor for the period in question; and whether it has been found possible to limit payment of commission as suggested by the Comptroller and Auditor-General?

The Secretary of State's attention has recently been drawn to the matter referred to by the hon. and gallant Member, and the High Commissioner for Iraq has been requested to furnish a full report which has not yet been received.
