HC Deb 30 March 1925 vol 182 c916
4. Mr. SCURR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has yet received the Report of the Government of India Committee on labour conditions in Fiji; and, if so, whether he will have it printed as a Command Paper?

Earl WINTERTON

I presume that the hon. Member refers to the deputation which visited Fiji in 1922. The question of Indians in Fiji, dealt with in the Report of the deputation, was taken up by the Committee appointed by the Government of India last year to confer with the Secretary of State for the Colonies on matters concerning Indians in certain Colonies and definite proposals regarding Indians in Fiji are now on their way to the Government of India. This being the position, the publication of the Report may not be necessary.
