asked the Minister of Health whether he will gather information of the range of the rents of new council houses in a few typical rural areas, so as to permit of a judgment whether these new council houses are meeting the urgent housing needs of rural workers earning a comparatively low wage?

§ 73. Mr. MONTAGUE
asked the Minister of Health the number of houses approved under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act, 1924, and in course of erection in agricultural parishes?
The number of houses authorised under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act, 1924, for erection in agricultural parishes is 1,408, 1,241 to be erected by local authorities and 167 by private enterprise. Of these 285 are under construction and 104 have been completed.
