HC Deb 26 March 1925 vol 182 cc613-4
50. Mr. GRIFFITHS

asked the Prime Minister whether, seeing that for Crown receivership purposes Wales and the Isle of Man are to be joined, it is the intention to further amalgamate for administrative purposes the two places; if so, what Department will be concerned; and will the officers appointed be expected to be able to converse in Welsh?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I have been asked to reply. There is no intention of amalgamating the Isle of Man with Wales for administrative purposes.

Mr. GRIFFITHS

Seeing that we have the satisfaction of knowing that Wales and the Isle of Man are not to be per manently joined together, will the right hon. Baronet reconsider the question of appointments to the Crown receivership, seeing that we have thousands of Welsh speaking ex-service men who are capable of filling the position?

Mr. SPEAKER

That is a different question.
