HC Deb 24 March 1925 vol 182 cc234-5
49. Viscountess ASTOR

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government has considered the question of the ratification of the recent Opium Conventions; and whether he can say when it is proposed to ratify them?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Godfrey Locker-Lampson)

I have been asked to reply. It is certainly the intention of the Government as at present advised to ratify these Conventions.

Viscountess ASTOR

Would the Government consider the ratification before the next meeting of the Assembly, considering how much misrepresentation there has been on the subject of this country's good faith in the suppression of the traffic?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

I will represent that to the Home Secretary.
