§ Celonel ASHLEYI have not received any information which would lead me to accept the suggestion contained in the first part of the question. As regards the second part, I would remind the right hon. Gentleman that, under the regulations contained in the Motor Car (Use and Construction) Orders, 19)4 and 1912, the provision of an effective silencer is required on a motor car. The enforcement of the law is a matter for the police.
