HC Deb 19 March 1925 vol 181 cc2444-5
7. Captain ARTHUR EVANS

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the financial position in which many widows of pre-War constables are situated owing to the fact that they have no pensions; and if the Government are prepared to take any measures to remedy this state of affairs?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir William Joynson-Hicks)

I regret that I can hold out no prospect of legislation on this question.
