HC Deb 18 March 1925 vol 181 c2244
23. Commander BELLAIRS

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty what are the present numbers of the personnel of the British and Japanese navies; and what is the expansion provided for in the Japanese navy in the coming years?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The number of officers and men actually borne on Vote A on the 15th February, 1925, was 99,894 for Fleet Services, and 287 R.M. Police, making a total of 100,181. The number of officers and men on the active list of the Japanese Navy on 1st July, 1924, was 72,831. With regard to the second part of the question I have no information.
