HC Deb 16 March 1925 vol 181 c1852

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, what gifts of flora and fauna have been made by private donors to the Royal parks during the past 12 months: and whether his Department is prepared at all times to consider gifts of a similar nature?

The following gifts have been received during the past 12 months:—1,000 Japanese Iris from the Orpington Nursery Company; 50 Golden Orfe from Mr. A. L. Allen; 12 Deer from Sir H. Dering; Wildfowl from Lord Ilchester, Lord Somerleyton, Mr. J. McKelvie, Captain Pretyman and Lord Rothschild. Various exchanges are also made from time to time with the London County Council. The Department is always prepared to consider gifts of flora and fauna which are suitable for the Royal parks.
