HC Deb 12 March 1925 vol 181 cc1482-3
9. Mr. DENNISON

asked the Minister of Pensions whether he has under con- sideration the closing of the regional headquarters in Birmingham; if so, about what date is it proposed to close; and will provision be made for the further employment by the Ministry of the temporary civil servants at present employed there?

Viscount CURZON

The question of recentralising the pension work of the Midlands Region now done at Birmingham is not at the present moment under consideration. When the time conies for recentralisation, however, every effort will, in accordance with the usual practice of the Ministry, be made to provide alternative employment either in the Ministry of Pensions or other 'Government Departments for all efficient members of the clerical and supervising staff who may be displaced.
