HC Deb 09 March 1925 vol 181 c932
76. Captain ARTHUR HOPE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he will consider the advisability of erecting street lamps on the road running along the north side of Hyde Park, in view of the fact that it is at present very dark and dangerous to pedestrians and motor vehicles?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. G. Locker-Lampson, for the First Commissioner of Works)

It has already been decided to provide lighting for the North Road, Hyde Park, and it is hoped to complete the work in the coming spring.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that there has been considerable delay, and that it is during these months of darkness that you want the lights, and not in the summer months?
