§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDStatistics of unemployed ex-service men are not 435 regularly compiled. A special census taken on 24th March, 1924, showed that at that date 285,993 ex-service men were registered as unemployed at Employment Exchanges in Great Britain.
