Mr. CHAMBERLAINOn the assumption that in referring to "Britain" the hon. Member means "His Majesty's Government," the answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. I regret that I am unable to say when the new Tangier Statute will come into effective operation. It was confidently hoped that this would take place on the 1st March, but so far these hopes have been frustrated.
