§ 25. Major GLYNasked the President of the Board of Trade for how much it was agreed by the Disposal Board and the Ministry of Munitions to sell the Slough depot and its buildings and contents; how much of this money has been paid to date; and what arrangements have been made for subsequent payments?
The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Guinness)I have been asked to answer this question. The position remains as stated in the answer given to the hon. and gallant Member for Hertford (Rear-Admiral Sueter) on the 14th April last.
§ Sir FREDRIC WISEHave we any security for those payments that have not been made'?
§ Sir J. NALLDo the Government intend the buyers to go on disposing of the property until they pay something on account?
Mr. GUINNESSA great deal has been received. I think it was stated in the last answer that more than £5,500,000 had been received. The matter is merely held up by an adjustment of accounts, the reason of which is rather difficult to explain by question and answer.
