Sir ROBERT HAMILTONasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider the advisability of instituting trials for cross-country motor vehicles similar to those recently held in Dorsetshire, but based upon cost per ton mile of goods carried without damage to the surface travelled over, having regard to the fact that the Army would probably be largely dependent in time of war on commercial sources of supply of such vehicles?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSIf the hon. Member will write to me or see me personally and explain more fully what he has in mind, I shall be glad to consider what assistance the War Office can give towards instituting such a trial.
