HC Deb 29 June 1925 vol 185 cc1982-3
2. Mr. CECIL WILSON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he can state in what cities in India there have during the last two years been serious outbreaks of small-pox in which Europeans have been attacked; how many Europeans have been attacked; how many of them were un-vaccinated; and whether any, and, if so, how many, Europeans, vaccinated or un-vaccinated, died?

Earl WINTERTON

I am afraid I am unable to supply the information desired by the hon. Member, as the latest reports issued by the Public Health Commissioner in India and Provincial Directors of Public Health relate to the year 1922, and as the statistics of vaccination for and mortality from small-pox among Europeans are not separately tabulated, except for the European troops in India. I shall be glad to furnish the hon. Member with a copy of the report of the Public Health Commissioner for 1922 if he so desires.
