HC Deb 29 June 1925 vol 185 c2009
46. Major HORE-BELISHA

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government will consider appointing a committee to inquire into the whole pensions system as affecting different Government servants, with a view to removing some of the anomalies which exist?

The PRIME MINISTER

I am not prepared to adopt this suggestion. A uniform pension system would not meet the diverse requirements of the various branches of the public service.

Major HORE-BELISHA

Does the right hon. Gentleman not think that some of the more glaring anomalies and injustices of the present system should be remedied?

The PRIME MINISTER

That is a different thing.
