HC Deb 24 June 1925 vol 185 c1522
50. Mr. RENNIE SMITH

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government proposes to take any action with regard to the more economical conversion of coal into heat, light, and power?

Mr. A. CHAMBERLAIN

As the hon. Member is aware, this question is receiving careful consideration, but I am not yet in a position to make any statement.

Mr. MACKINDER

Will the right hon. Gentleman attempt to dissuade his friends in the Press from stating that this method is an absolute failure, and of no use economically, in view of the fact that an investigation is being made?
