§ 64. Sir FREDRIC WISE
asked the President of the Board of Trade what are the exports and imports, respectively, of the German Republic since 1st January, 1925, to as near a date as possible?
According to the German official trade returns, the total value of merchandise imported into Germany for home consumption from 1st January to 30th April, 1925, amounted 1078 to, roughly, 4,400 million gold marks; and the total value of domestic exports during the same period amounted to 2,700 million gold marks.
Can the hon. Member explain how reparations are to be paid, if there is a constant import surplus?
