Mr. TREVELYANasked the Under secretary of State for the Home Department, as representing the First Commis- 429 sioner of Works, whether he is aware that the stone in the road, near the Marble Arch, which marks the site of Tyburn has been covered over with road-repairing material; whether he will take steps to prevent the obliteration of the stone; and whether he will consider setting a tablet into one of the neighbouring walls in order to secure a correct record?
Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON; The stone was covered with tar during road repairs, and the tar has now been removed. A tablet already exists on the balustrade of the park drawing attention to the stone in the road.
