§ 59. Sir A. HOLBROOKasked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the difficulty experienced by farmers throughout the country in obtaining temporary assistance in harvesting operations; and whether he will cause prominence to be given at all Employment Exchanges for notices that the acceptance by men receiving unemployment benefit of temporary agricultural work will not disqualify them from receiving such unemployment benefit on discharge?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of LABOUR (Mr. Betterton)I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply (of which I am sending him a copy) given on l5th July to three questions on the same subject. Instructions have been issued to Employment Exchanges for the exhibition of the notice to which I then referred.
§ Sir A. HOLBROOKMy question is whether the Parliamentary Secretary can say if these instructions have been posted at the Employment Exchanges for the information of the ordinary labourer?
§ Mr. BETTERTONYes, I say in my answer that instructions have been issued to the Employment Exchanges for the exhibition of these notices.
