HC Deb 23 July 1925 vol 186 c2396
78. Sir F. HALL

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether consideration has yet been given to the filling of the post of Comptroller of the Patent Office when it become vacant; whether any steps have yet been taken to select a successor to the present Comptroller; and, if not, will he give an assurance that nothing shall be done until full consideration has been given to the memorial which has been presented by eminent scientists and others as to the considerations which should have weight in filling the position?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

Full consideration will be given to the matter in all its bearings, when the time comes for the selection of a successor to the present Comptroller-General of Patents.
