Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe cost of the Residency in Cairo in 1913–14, including the officials, was £12,261. The cost of the staff in 1925–26 is estimated at £27,287, while incidental expenses, including the maintenance of the house occupied by the High Commissioner, for 1924–25, the last-period for which figures are available, was £6,322. The above figures do not include capital expenditure of £3,395 in 1913–14 and £9,435 in 1924–25.
