HC Deb 15 July 1925 vol 186 cc1261-2
8. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the reason for the delay in the drawing up of the Report of the Mission sent to the Iraq-Turkish borders by the League of Nations; whether the preparation of this Report is proceeding; and when it is expected that the Report will be published?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

As regards the first part of the question, I am not prepared to admit that there has been delay on the part of the Commissioners. I would remind the hon. and gallant Gentleman that the purpose of the Council of the League in appointing the Commission was to obtain the advice of an entirely independent body which should be master of its own procedure. The answer to the second part of the question is in the affirmative. Nothing has yet been decided in regard to the publication of the report.
