HC Deb 13 July 1925 vol 186 c843
48. Mr. TREVELYAN THOMSON

asked the Prime Minister whether he expects to receive an interim Report from the Civil Research Committee on the position of the steel industry before the House rises?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Baldwin)

I am not in a position to make any statement on this subject.

Mr. THOMSON

In view of the grave uncertainty created in the mind of this important trade by recent Government pronouncements, can the right hon. Gentleman expedite the Report of this Committee and make some definite statement before the House rises?

The PRIME MINISTER

If any uncertainty has arisen, I shall be only too pleased to dissipate it at the earliest possible moment that I am able to make an announcement.
