The number of individuals actually paying Income Tax was in the year 1920–21, 3,000,000; in the year 1921–22, 2,600,000; in the year 1922–23, 2,425,000, and in the year 1923–24, 2,400,000. The number of individuals convicted of fraud in connection with their returns was in 1921, 7; in 1922, 18; in 1923, 13, and in 1924, 7.
