HC Deb 06 July 1925 vol 186 c36
82. Sir R. GOWER

asked the Minister of Health whether he has received a communication from the Bakery Allied Traders' Association representing that the result of the proposed Public Health (Preservatives, etc., in Food) Regulations, 1925, will mean dearer food and an acute shortage of supplies, with actual starvation in sight should a national emergency arise; and whether he has any statement to make upon the matter?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

Yes, Sir;. my right hon. Friend has received the communication referred to, which has had very careful consideration. Ho cannot, however, admit that there is any substantial ground for the apprehension expressed in the latter part of my hon. Friend's question.
