HC Deb 06 July 1925 vol 186 c42
94. Mr. W. THORNE

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that there is a good deal of delay on the District Railway in regard to the early morning trains travelling between Barking and Bow Road, due to the absence of automatic signalling apparatus which is operating on the western section of the line; if he is aware that the London Midland and Scottish Railway Company have promised to carry out this reform for some considerable time; and if he will state the cause of the delay in carrying out the suggested improvements?

Colonel ASHLEY

I understand that the plans and estimate for the automatic signalling work to which the hon. Member refers were finally approved by the company last month, and that they are arranging to carry out the work as soon as possible.
