Mr. BRIANTasked the President of the Board of Education whether the Board has taken any steps to enforce the provision of medical inspection for the detection and correction of visual defects in these schools under the 14 local education authorities which the chief medical officer of health, in his Report of 1923, states make no such provision?
§ Lord E. PERCYI am glad to say that of the 14 local authorities in question, six have, since the Report was issued, 2781 provided for visual treatment, and seven others have submitted proposals for such provision. In the remaining case I am advised that any treatment which may be required can be obtained without special provision being made by the authority.
