The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the ADMIRALTY (Mr. Davidson)A petition concerning the wages of the local workmen at Malta is at present under consideration, and a reply will be given as soon as possible; the predominant 2502 weekly rates of wages, inclusive of temporary increases, at present being paid to labourers, skilled labourers, and fitters in Malta Dockyard, are 25s., 28s., and 44s., respectively.
